theWay
Mobile app designed to help users lead a healthy lifestyle by tracking their food intake and promoting balanced food choices.
theWay gives users the ability to track their meals and receive personalized feedback and recommendations to improve their diet.
Improve user engagement with the platform and reduce churn through the development of a improved and intuituve user interface, navigation enhancements, as well as addressing and resolving identified technological debt from user surveys.
A complete review of navigation and UX, as well as a full UI update, is required to accommodate new use cases.
The development of key functionalities is needed to complete the user flow and ensure that primary tasks can be accomplished, avoiding errors that cause friction.
The implementation of new technologies such as trackers, voice dictation, photo-based data identification and login, AI-powered personalized recommendations, is required to enhance app usability, elevate the user experience, convey value, and reduce abandonment rates.
theWay app architecture
The architecture shows the structure and organization of the different sections and screens within theWay app and the creation of an intuitive and coherent navigation structure that supports project objectives and user needs.
It serves as a vital navigation tool, helping users find their way through the various features and functionalities such as food tracking, recipes, adding food, progress and more. The sitemap enables a seamless user experience by guiding them to the desired sections and ensuring efficient interaction.
User Research
Conduct research to understand the needs, preferences and challenges of users related to food, nutrition and health.
Intuitive user flows: Design a simple and logical navigation flow that allows users to easily log their meals and access relevant information about their diet.
Simplified meal log: Create an efficient food log process, using features such as barcode scanning, food search and saved meal options.
Personalization and recommendations: Analyze user data to provide specific feedback and recommendations and improve the quality of users’ meals and nutrition.
Constant Feedback: Provide instant feedback on food choices, highlighting positive aspects and suggesting improvements.
User Interface (UI) Design
Design a visually appealing interface with colors and graphic elements that promote a positive and motivating experience.
Color palette: select colors that reflect freshness and health, such as soft greens.
Iconography: Use intuitive icons and symbols to represent different food categories and functions of the application.
Legible typography: Choose legible fonts that are attractive on mobile devices and convey professionalism and friendliness.
Illustrations and graphics: Incorporate illustrations and graphics related to healthy eating to visually enrich the experience.
White space and organization: Use white space effectively to avoid visual clutter and organize information clearly and coherently.
Recipes section
To meet users' needs and help them make healthier choices and reach their goals, theWay offers a comprehensive database with specific healthy recipe recommendations to improve the quality of their meals.
Recipes are divided into weekly, by category or special collections created by the app. For each recipe, users can consult detailed information on ingredients, portions, calories, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, etc. Users can easily and intuitively add recipes to their food log, as well as specify portions and even add them to other days' logs.
The experience focuses on providing users with an easy and engaging way to search, access and use recipes to improve their diet.
In order to meet the needs of the users, to ensure that they do not churn after a short period of time and to achieve the objectives of the app, an effective and satisfying user experience was designed to record and track what they eat throughout the day. The interface had to be clean and accessible to ensure that users could easily and intuitively perform the main tasks of meal tracking.
theWay project focuses on providing users with an intuitive and engaging experience as they track their food intake and strive to adopt healthier eating habits. The combination of a well-researched user experience design and an engaging user interface can help users achieve their health goals effectively and sustainably.
